A fight between Cruz and Trump would be quite juvenile, but at this point, it wouldn’t surprise me. So many lines have been crossed in the 2016 Presidential race, that a punch to the face—of someone other than a protestor—may be imminent.
On Thursday, a meme was posted on Donald Trump’s Twitter account that featured Cruz’s wife (Heidi) on the left, and Trump’s wife (Melania) on the right.
Earlier this week, Trump threatened to “spill the beans” on Heidi Cruz, which has led some to believe that Trump is referring to Mrs. Cruz’s battle with depression in 2005.
Men do not take threats towards their wives or girlfriends lightly. We treat our significant others as extensions of ourselves, and with that, we protect their identities as much as we protect ours. There is no way that I would be in a room, knowing that the dude who was speaking bad about my wife is standing across from me on a podium. That type of disrespect must be addressed, preferably with a face-to-face conversation. As Kevin Garnett showed us, speaking bad of one’s wife can have her husband waiting outside for you.
Whenever a man disrespect’s another man’s wife, he is doing it to intentionally disrespect the wife as well as the husband. And regardless the response, the couple disrespected will likely be pissed.
Which explains Cruz’s response to Trump on Thursday evening:
Cruz referred to Trump as a “sniveling coward” and told him to “Leave Heidi the hell alone.”
I think Ted is still riled up from The Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion.
But I must ask, in the words of Kenya Moore, “Or what?” What, is Ted going to do if Donald is editing Heidi’s pictures with a meme generator right now?
In a political race where the media has played such an important role in the rise of Trump, Cruz’s popularity would grow incredibly if he punched Trump on live television. Even if Cruz got arrested, a White House petition to ‘Release Ted Cruz’ may raise more signatures than the ‘Arrest Donald Trump’ petition received. President Obama would slay at the White House Correspondence Dinner with jokes about how Cruz knocked out Trump at a campaign event.
Cruz and Trump will probably never come to blows, but just in case I am wrong, I deleted the last episode of The Walking Dead to make space on the DVR.
Cruz wouldn’t be the first person to put hands on Donald.
Gimme a hell yeah.
